We are all human, and we make mistakes all the time. Lawyers know the law, but they still make mistakes. They are neither God nor beyond the grasp of the Law. Advocates in Dubai and other Emirates are held accountable for their acts and are expected to conduct themselves professionally, responsibly, and ethically. If your lawyer does not act ethically and professionally, you have the right to sue them. You must first ensure that you are using them for the correct reason and that you are aware of your rights. A complaint can be registered against the Lawyers and Law Offices by Emirati Lawyers as well. They can be sued for a variety of reasons, including misrepresentation, negligence, unprofessional behaviour, malpractice, improper billing, and so on. The following considerations must be made in order for it to be effective:
- Keep all of your records, including phone calls, meetings, contracts, paperwork, and anything else that is significant to you.
- Prove how much money you lost as a result of this case in every way possible.
- Provide evidence of their failure to fulfil their responsibilities and negligence in the case
- Demonstrate that they aren’t performing at their best.
- Keep track of all documents and their development so you can show them where it all began and where the case is currently.
- Demonstrate to them that the lawyer originally aided them, but then juniors and helpers were entrusted with the case.
- Evidence in court showing your case was dormant while your lawyer was preoccupied with other clients who were paying them more money.
- Have proof of all bills and show the court that they misappropriated your expenses and demanded more money than was necessary.
The Service Protocol:
DIWAN or Ruler’s Court does not show any flexibility or support to even the Emirati Lawyers/Advocates. They are considered accountable for their deeds. All it is done to produce quality results and service protocols. The service protocol is the right of everyone who spends his fortune on legal services.
